Scoping review violation of rights linked to care in the phases of parturition

Abstract

Introduction: Obstetric Violence (VO) is exerted by the health professional on the body, sexual and reproductive processes of the users.

Objective: Understand the context of the violation of fundamental rights during the stages of childbirth, from the perspective of the people involved: users, health personnel, significant others and/or companions of the woman.

Methodology: We worked with a Scooping Review design, following the recommendations of PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews), inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied to select the articles that responded to the research question.

Results: Based on the studies, three categories were obtained in which the types of violation exerted towards the users, solution proposals and postpartum psycho-emotional manifestations were evidenced.

Conclusion: A fairly complete typing of the types of VO was achieved, however, only 4 studies that tangentially describe the postpartum psycho-emotional manifestations of the user are rescued from the literature, it is suggested to consider this variable in future lines of research together with exploring the vision of the Health teams on this phenomenon.
