Objective: the objective of this study was to analyze the impact of implementing Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology as a way of innovation in teaching the curriculum content of the English course for MT students.
Materials and Method: in order to develop this study, various educational resources were designed between TM and the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Program, where the ABPr methodology was applied. Additionally, through a survey of student perceptions, other expected outcomes of this implementation were identified.
Results: the evaluation of the developed projects demonstrated a positive impact on the learning process of the curriculum content in the English course for MT students. Furthermore, other effects of implementing PBL were identified, such as creativity, cooperative work among MT students, self-efficacy, and collaborative and interdisciplinary work with ECE students.
Conclusions: the analysis of the results reflects that implementing PBL contributes to innovation in teaching English in higher education and further confirms the usefulness of this approach as a valuable tool in curricular innovation processes.
