PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTIONS AND THEIR IMPACT ON QUALITY OF LIFE AND SEXUAL FUNCTION IN WOMEN: SCOPING REVIEW

Introduction: pelvic floor dysfunction as a problem affects women in the urinary, digestive and sexual spheres, as well as in the psychological sphere and social life.
Objective: Determine the impact of pelvic soil dysfunctions on the quality of life and sexual function in women during 2013-2023.
Methodology: The study used a documentary analysis of qualitative, retrospective type, Scoping Review modality.
Results: The review revealed that women with pelvic soil dysfunctions experience a negative impact on their physical and emotional well -being, being urinary incontinence and the prolapse of pelvic organs dysfunctions that most affect the quality of life. Fecal incontinence, although less reported, has a negative impact. In that sense, it is concluded that pelvic soil dysfunctions negatively influence biopsychosocial health, deteriorating both the quality of life and sexual function and interpersonal relationships. In addition, it is evident that the impact on sexual function is particularly notable, affecting the desire, excitement and the ability to achieve orgasm, in addition to generating sexual avoidance and trigger.
Conclusions: pelvic floor dysfunctions are a biopsychosocial health problem, not comprehensive.
